You can’t replace your best friend, but you can make great new memories.
I miss you, Strudel. Saturdays just ain’t the same. Reading books without you laying on them is weird. I miss when you would try to talk to me with all of your different meows when you knew I was talking to you. I miss you slyly sneaking into my lap every now and then. I miss you nuzzeling your head into mine everytime I picked you up. You were something to love when I was at my saddest, and always a friend.

The first cut might be the deepest
But the most recent blow is the hardest.
Imagine letting someone have every last piece of you, for one simple promise. Imagine that person knowing every last inch of you, inside and out. Imagine trusting that person more than you’ve ever trusted any one in your entire life. Imagine thinking that that person could and would never break that promise, and then imagine one day, out of the blue, them telling you they did it.
What? What?… no. Imagine waiting for them to say “just kidding”, but it never happening. Imagine feeling every muscle in your body freeze. Imagine feeling your heart sink down to your stomach. Imagine your eyes filling up with tears that just won’t stop. Imagine not being able to catch your breath.
Imagine looking at the face of the person that you would give up your soul for and not even knowing who they are.
Imagine holding a gigantic ball of light deep inside of yourself, for one specific person, that glows everytime they’re with you. Imagine feeling a giant foot stomp it right out in the blink of an eye.
Now, welcome to my life.
Everyone you let in will break your heart in one way or another. Sad, but true.
